This time last year I was in Corpus Christi, TX windsurfing out of world winds. It was also 1 year ago that I became sponsored by RRD Sailboards, RRD Sails and Ocean Sunglasses! But also this time last year I turned 27! Instead of living out of a rented U-Haul down by the water I am staying in an apartment at Jibe City, In Bonaire. Thousands of miles away from home, but somehow I am more at home then most of the places I will go this year.
Pictured below from Left to right Phillip my new neighbor, and now new friend who quite his job and is here to learn to windsurf. Monique and Robert good friends who for the last 3 yrs have always taken good care of me, and made sure I stayed out of trouble. Me and my now new twin sister thanks to my new haircut, somehow even though she is from holland she is also friends with many of the people I know back home. her friend Rose, Gerard and of course Yan a good friend of ABK.

This was a far different celebration then I had last year in the back of a rented U-haul with two friends and some beer. But wanting to keep it pretty quite just like last year and just spend some time with good friends, beers and a Bottle of Patron!
My present, wrapped in a cover girl ad.

A Necklace from Grenada, made of all kinds of herbs and spices...it smelled very nice. I think it was slightly more polite then last years necklace made from car deodorizers.

William takes a shot for me, despite his dislike for Tequilla.

Cutting the cake up!

Davy Scheffers shows up just in time for the cake, and to show off his muscles!
Cheers! (See photo below). To all my friends and family who where not here for this celebration. Especially to all those this year that have helped make my 27th year the best I have ever had. Hopefully we can make the 28th year that much better. Special thanks to my Mom, my Grandparents and to RRD Sailboards, RRD Sails, Ocean Sunglasses, and to Andy Brandt who opened my eyes to what windsurfing was really about over the last 3 yrs! Even though you were not here I had one for you too! Don't worry mom down here the beers are only 8oz!
