SUP and Longboard specialty sails

Feb 7, 2010

These sails all work on "longer" shaped boards. They are either designed for smooth cruising down the lake or river or they are specially sewn for riding your new SUP in the surf... yeah baby!

Whatever you need, the descriptions below will help you find your sail.

Aerotech SUP Wave

Aerotech SUP Wave

Concept: S.U.P

With the explosion in the Stand Up Paddle market, Aerotech introduces a sail designed to power these unique boards. When riding a long board in the surf it is best to have a sail that you can depower when waiting for a wave. The new S.U.P. wave model features a soft luff panel which compliments these boards perfectly. This lightweight sail is constructed in 100% grid and opens a whole new window in the 5 to 15 knots of wind days.

Construction: This model features a 100% grid construction for the ultimate in durability and UV resistance and new raised stainless steel 6-1 pulley with oversized rollers.

Aerotech Zenith

Aerotech Zenith

Concept: Long Board

The Zenith is a no-cam power slalom sail. It is your best choice for a sail designed specifically for cruising on longboards or big freeride stuff. With its tight leech and fuller shape, this model allows the rider to be powered up on a smaller sail. The reduced luff curve allows for hassle-free rigging. With its unique design, it can be tuned for non-planing conditions with a tight leech or pretty floppy for the overpowering stuff. Nice and bright for maximum ‘wow’. The Zenith is the choice for the Exocet Kona one-design sail. This sail went unchanged from 2008 to 2009.

Construction: This model features a 100% grid construction for the ultimate in durability and UV resistance and new raised stainless steel 6-1 pulley with oversized rollers. The sail utilizes inset clew grommets which allow for the use of a shorter boom, maximizing stiffness. The inset clew grommets also provide a more natural twist pattern.

Ezzy Zephyr

Ezzy Zephyr

Back to our roots. The Zephyr takes us back when you could go out in 10 knots or less and have a really fun time. The long boom length combined with the stable profile gives the Zephyr the power of an 8.5 and the control of a 6.5.

Light and easy to throw around. The Zephyr is a blast to sail on Stand-Up Paddle (SUP) boards, as well as freeride boards. New seam shaping. The Zephyr has a camber-like profile without using cams. The Zephyr has a deep and draft forward foil which is what you want for light air sailing. For stronger wind, apply more outhaul to flatten the profile, and the Zephyr becomes a perfect high wind Freeride sail. Easy to rig. To take the guess work out of rigging, the Zephyr has color coded outhaul and downhaul indicators.

Built to last. The Zephyr contains no monofilm. The Technora® leech panel provides low stretch along the leech. The new Tri-Lite cloth in the center panel is lightweight and strong. The lower panels and luff panels are built with our super tough Spectra® X Film. The battens are RBS® epoxy. The Zephyr also has a vinyl window for durability and perfect visibility. Finally, every Zephyr gets rigged and checked before it leaves the factory.

Size: One size covers 6.5 to 8.5

Luff: 488-491; Boom: 205-212

Suggested Mast: 460/25/25

No. of Battens: 7

Severne SUPer Light

Severne SUPer Light

The user friendly SUPer Light 6.5 sai at only 1.8kg is probably the lightest, yet most powerful foil ever designed in windsurfing. The light, short batten, high clew orientation is easy for uphauling and great far classic freestyle moves. With 40 years of simplification the sail provides mat extra glide, especially in light winds, creating a certain stoke rarely seen in recent years.

This light wind specific sail is set to instil a sense of nostalgia amongst the more established windsurfer and a hassle free alternative to the paddling SUPer. It's light, manoeuvrable, non-rigging specific and is the perfect retro freestyle tool bringing colour back to the water whilst the Oacron construction provides a soft, durable and manageable profile.

The SUPer Light has been buit around non-planing fun although its application is not confined to any category and can be used from light wind freestyle to wave riding your SUP. www.star-board-sup.com It benefits from the ease of packing, where it can be packed into a duffel bag without the risk of damaging the sail.

It can be rigged with an old or new 430cm or 460cm mast.
