The first event of the 2012 AWT season was the epic Goya Windsurfing Festival held at Waddell Beach just north of Santa Cruz. Prize money was on the line not just for the Pro Men and Women but also to the Best Move for Men, Women and Youth.
Fiona Wylde of Hood River, OR took home the Youth Best Move award for getting smashed by a monster wave and getting right back up to ride another huge one only minutes later.
Ingrid Larouche took home the Women's Best Move award, along with winning the Women's title, for an incredibly memorable "big wave hack" on the first day of competition when the conditions were at their best.
Marcilio "Brawzinho" Browne was awarded the Men's Best Move prize for sticking an impressively clean Double Forward. What is even more amazing is that he had previously landed a Double earlier in that same heat but felt he could land it better... and he did!
