LEVEL 2 - Intermediate (Non planing emphasis)

So, you've had your first lesson or two and spent at least a little time on the water. If you want to keep getting better at this sport you have to be honest with yourself about you skill level when you choose your board and sail to ride.

 

We are going to divide LEVEL 2 into three categories so CLICK ON the one below that suits you best. At the top of each page we will outline what these boards should have so you can be certain that they match up correctly to your ability level!


Three Intermediate BOARD choices: Three Intermediate SAIL choices:

1.  PERFORMANCE BEGINNER BOARD - Were you were challenged by your last windsurfing session on a beginner board? You are probably just an occasional windsurfer who wants to have as much fun as possible every time out on the water. Keeping things easy will make it more fun, but these board will still allow you to take your windsurfing to the next level as quickly as possible.

1. EASY FREERIDE SAIL - You value easy of use and cost over everything else. You do want a sail that you can learn all intermediate skills on but you understand that this won't be a top-of-the-line performance machine.

2.  BIG INTERMEDIATE BOARD - You now believe that the beginner board you have been using since you started feels huge! Maybe you are getting bored from a lack of challenge. Balancing on that board is a piece-of-cake that doesn't reward your "athleticism" or "determination to improve quickly."

2. PERFORMANCE SAIL - You are either very athletic or a super determined windsurfer and you know you want a sail that will perform... even if it costs a bit more and will take a little more time to dial in. You know that since you are windsurfing regularly you will improve VERY quickly. You know the type of sail you want, but just need to check out your options!

3. STANDUP PADDLEBOARD - If you know for certain that you want a easy board to be able to standup paddle on as well as use to windsurf. Today there are great multi-sport options that work adequetly well for both windsurfing and SUPing.

3. SUP/LONGBOARD SAIL - You know for certain that you want a sail that is specifically made for getting the most out of a Standup Paddleboard (SUP) or longboard.
