Most of lifes toughest lessons come with a 10-step program... well ABK makes Jibing easy by using only 4!

Below is the basic outline of what you want to accomplish (with a few tips thrown in for good measure). If you want to know more of the specifics to jibing then either sign up for an ABK Boardsports camp or come to one of the various free shop nights presented around the country while we're on tour.
Start with the SETUP where your goal is to get your body into proper jibing postion (unhooked and out of the back footstrap) without losing any speed or control.
Second is the ENTRY where you begin to carve the turn downwind. Try to let the sail pull your body up over the board so you carve smoothly in a wide arcing turn.
Third is the TRANSITION. Switch your feet while keeping your weight over the carving rail. If the board flattens out or looses its carve you will be thrown off-balance.
Finally you get to EXIT with speed (hopefully) or at least just a smile plastered across your face. Hang your weight down off the boom to help accelerate the board back up to full speed.
