We contact Taty Frans fresh off his PWA freestyle win in Austria to find out how he is feeling...
Who were you competing against in your best heat and what hard moves did you land?
Well, all my 3 heats to winning this event were hard. It started first with Tonky... then Kiri... then in the final Steven. I know that all three of these guys are good in these conditions, and having Steven winning the whole European Tour in light conditions I expected good things from him (and also from Tonky).
How does it feel to win two PWA contests in a row?
Truth is I didn't expect this. I mean winning Austria and also winning Sylt helps with the feeling of motivation to keep training harder to win. I just feel good and I am happy about all this.
How was the wind? What sail and board did you use?
The wind was at times perfect for 5.2, but I stayed on my 5.6 MauiSail Loco sail in all the heats. And I was using the 2010 Flare wood carbon 98. My perfect choice for gear!
What is next on your schedule? Where are you headed and what are you going to do?
Well I'm off to Bonaire now to train and I'm planing to head to Aruba in a weeks time for a few more days of training. I also may be going to El Yaque, Margarita for the Wild Winds event. But my main goal is to train more in Bonaire and wait for the Lanzarote and Fuerteventura events.
