RRD X-Ride 155

Jun 18, 2009

V: 155 L: 258 W: 76
The X-Ride 155 has an ideal inboard strap placement to let intermediate riders progress quickly into the racier outboard setting. It has plenty of volume, making it very stable and allowing it to respond to the faintest gust when you want to get planing. It’s one of the few boards in the test that seems eager to try sails larger than the 7.5-metres we had. At speed, the ride is well-balanced. In the outboard footstrap setting, the recessed tail section offers the ability to trim the X-ride up onto the fin to go even faster. The higher volume compared to the other boards makes itself felt in the corners with the X-Ride needing a wider radius turn and requiring firm pressure on the rail to carve. Don’t confuse this with weight back on the tail as this will make for a bouncy ride. Getting weight forward lets the rail cut through the water like a hot knife through butter. robertoriccidesigns.com
